AU-EVA1 Compacte filmcamera

Panasonic heeft een firmware-upgrade voor zijn compacte EVA1-filmcamera aangekondigd die veel verbeteringen omvat, waaronder mogelijkheden voor het opnemen van ALL-I-codecs en het uitvoeren van RAW.

Dankzij de gratis update, die beschikbaar is vanaf eind maart 2018, ondersteunt de super-35mm sensorcamera nu Panasonic ALL-Intra-codecs1, RAW-uitvoer2, timelapse-opnames en een nieuwe interlaced HD 422-codec3 voor tv-toepassingen.

Daarnaast kan de camera nu extern worden bediend met bedrade controllers van andere fabrikanten. Dat maakt focus- en irisregeling voor diverse lensopties en zoomregeling voor Canon Compact Cine-Servo-zoom mogelijk.

Bovendien worden nu ook zes Sigma ART-lenzen4 ondersteund.

Monitoring in de camera wordt aanzienlijk beter met het klonen van signalen van lcd naar HDMI en extra indicatoren op het startscherm. Voor een betere workflow heeft Panasonic ook een mogelijkheid toegevoegd voor het uitvoeren van aanvullende gegevens voor RAW, zoals tijdcodes, RAC-markeringen en VANC-metagegevens op SDI.

Sinds de AU-EVA1 eind 2017 op de markt kwam, is de camera veel gebruikt voor onafhankelijke filmproducties, commercials, documentaires en live evenementen. De kleine vorm van de EVA1, die een geïntegreerde EF-vatting en een optionele externe PL-vatting heeft, maakt hem ideaal voor gimbal- en dronetoepassingen. De kleurtechniek en dual-native ISO die zijn overgenomen van de VariCam, maken dit bovendien een geweldige B-camera voor grote producties waarvoor de VariCam wordt gebruikt.
