Panasonic and roda computer strengthen cooperation for the development of military-specific IT solutions
In June, Panasonic Connect GmbH and roda computer GmbH signed an agreement on the customization of Panasonic products for use in military vehicles. As part of this agreement, roda computer GmbH will supplement the Panasonic TOUGHBOOK hardware with, among other things, military circular connectors or additional interfaces on a module basis.
These military-specific solutions, which are offered throughout Europe, open up new, flexible and future-oriented uses of mobile IT for organizations in security and defense. Panasonic and roda are linked by a long-standing cooperation and a trusting collaboration, which has arisen in various large-scale projects in the past and is now being continued intensified.
For military users in particular, it is important, often even mission-critical, to be able to rely 100% on reliable technology. Panasonic develops and sells ready-to-use mobile devices under the TOUGHBOOK brand, which are trusted by international defense organizations and tested for robustness and reliability according to the strictest military standards. Since every troop and every mission has different requirements, with the extended cooperation a wide range of modular configuration options as well as tailor-made adjustments to the Panasonic TOUGHBOOK hardware can be realized via roda computer. The properties guaranteed by Panasonic in terms of resistance according to MIL standards are adhered to.
The product portfolios of the two leading providers of hardened and customer-specific IT solutions complement each other perfectly: roda offers particularly hardened tablets and notebooks, such as the Rocky RK12 or the Lizard RB14, with display sizes of up to 17" and military interfaces. Safety-relevant data is not only protected by the robust housing, but also optionally by the radiation protection (TEMPEST) according to the national zone model (BSI) and the international SDIP 27.
With many years of experience in the implementation of customer-specific adaptations in the military environment and the proven Panasonic TOUGHBOOK devices, there are completely new perspectives for both companies and their customers in the field of security and defense.
