Bracknell, UK. 19th January 2023 – With the Rental & Staging and Location Based Entertainment industries facing an increasingly complex market, leading players are looking to the latest AV technologies for an edge. Rising transport costs and staff shortages, alongside increasingly flexible bookings from event organisers are major challenges for event production companies. It’s why LANG AG, one of Europe’s leading visual presentation technology dry-hire businesses in the Rental and Staging market, today announced a major investment in Panasonic’s new RQ25K Series, for 100 units of the world’s smallest and lightest 3-Chip DLP projectors with up to 20,000lm brightness and 4K resolution.
“This significant investment, and extension of our more than 30-year relationship with Panasonic, will help our customers meet today’s industry challenges,” said Tobias Lang, CEO at LANG AG. “The Panasonic RQ25K Projector Series delivers next-generation visual technology that wows the crowds with the latest and greatest image quality, streamlines workflows to enable fast and effective set-up and control and delivers unrivalled reliability.”
LANG AG chose the new Series, available in December, because it offers a number of important advantages to its rental users. The RQ25K is 40% smaller and 35% lighter than its RQ22K predecessor, making it easier to transport and stack for Rental and Staging companies and more convenient to position for fixed installations. The Series simplifies everything from installation to operation with time-saving workflow streamlining features. Integration into wider systems is also fast and simple with the first Panasonic projector to be Intel® Smart Display Module (Intel® SDM)-ready.
“From the moment Panasonic introduced its first 20,000lm projectors back in 2012 it has defined the sector,” added Tobias Lang. “We immediately saw the benefits of the new RQ25K Series for our customers. With the SDM slot, it sets new benchmarks in terms of configurability and connectivity, bridging to IP-based systems like Panasonic PTZ cameras or KAIROS. We deliberately decided to go with this 4K platform only as we see the market moving to higher resolutions, so we have unified the fleet on 4K. We look forward to being one of the first European providers to offer this ground-breaking AV technology for our rental customers.”
Jan Markus Jahn, Head of the Media Entertainment Business Unit at Panasonic Connect Europe, added: “This LANG investment in RQ25, alongside its existing IP-based PTZ cameras and the KAIROS production platform, means it will be one of the first companies able to offer its customers a complete glass-to-glass IP-based workflow. This is a major milestone for the AV industry and opens new doors for staging and events customers, especially when dealing with hybrid and online productions.”
