PANASONIC & VNC AUTOMOTIVE ENHANCE IN-VEHICLE EFFICIENCY AND COMMUNICATION FOR MOBILE WORKERS
Panasonic Screen Mirroring solution mirrors TOUGHBOOK display onto vehicle’s existing touchscreen, increasing efficiency and reducing response times for mobile workers.
Wiesbaden, DE. 20th May 2025
Together with automotive connectivity specialists, VNC Automotive, Panasonic Connect Mobile Solutions Business Division has launched its in-vehicle TOUGHBOOK Screen Mirroring solution for mobile workers, duplicating information displayed on a TOUGHBOOK tablet or notebook onto a vehicle’s existing OEM touchscreen. Ideal for field-based teams that operate primarily from a vehicle who need real-time data to make mission-critical decisions on the go, TOUGHBOOK Screen Mirroring enhances flexibility and communication for field workers.
Reducing In-Vehicle Complexity and Maximising Efficiency
Integration between the TOUGHBOOK rugged device and the OEM screen will be facilitated by VNC Automotive’s Cobalt Cube® device. When conforming to regional road safety regulations, this enables the user to seamlessly access work orders, navigation, and communication tools through one central interface.
For emergency services and roadside assistance teams, other critical vehicle systems can also be integrated into the solution and controlled via the TOUGHBOOK or from the vehicle’s dashboard. This includes internal and external lighting; sirens; radios; and cameras, whilst the device remains out of sight, or in another part of the vehicle.
Compatible with any vehicle that supports Android Auto connectivity, Panasonic’s TOUGHBOOK Screen Mirroring solution removes the need for additional touchscreens and mounting systems in the front of the vehicle, saving space and reducing complexity. Furthermore, Panasonic’s five-year warranty and comprehensive managed services suite of support, servicing, and maintenance maximises efficiency, whilst minimising hardware costs and vehicle installation downtime.
"Public sector and commercial fleets need to access an array of mission critical devices and systems. At the same time, the capabilities and size of in-vehicle touchscreens only continue to increase. Our intimate knowledge of what mobile workers require, operationally, from their mobile device – combined with VNC Automotive’s engineering capabilities – positions our Screen Mirroring solution as a unique proposition in the market."
