DTPS – Desktop Programming & Simulation Software

PC software for robot and welding systems

DTPS (Desktop Programming & Simulation System) is Panasonic’s advanced PC-based software designed to optimise the way robotic welding systems are programmed, simulated and managed. It enables users to create and refine robot programs offline, allowing production to continue uninterrupted while new processes are developed and tested in parallel.

By bringing together simulation, programming and monitoring within one environment, DTPS supports a more efficient and controlled approach to automation. Manufacturers benefit from improved planning accuracy, reduced downtime and consistent process quality across their operations.

Efficient Programming and Seamless Data Handling

DTPS provides a consistent workflow from program creation through to deployment. Robot programs can be edited directly on the PC, with full control over movement paths and process parameters. Once validated, they can be transferred smoothly to the robot controller.

At the same time, the system enables structured data management. Programs and system data can be converted into text formats for documentation, analysis and archiving, making it easier to maintain transparency and traceability. Automated backup functions further ensure that critical data from the controller is securely stored and always accessible.

Optimisation, Flexibility and Production Transparency

DTPS supports a proactive approach to process optimisation by enabling detailed analysis before production begins. Users can evaluate tool and workpiece accessibility, analyse working ranges and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Initial utilisation and cost assessments further support informed planning and faster commissioning.

At the same time, the software offers a high degree of adaptability. Through the use of macros, DTPS can be tailored to individual requirements, allowing users to extend functionality and align the system with specific production workflows. This flexibility makes it suitable for both standardised and highly specialised welding applications.

In addition, DTPS enhances operational transparency through real-time monitoring capabilities. Welding parameters can be visualised directly on the PC, while the status and utilisation of connected robots can be tracked remotely via Ethernet. Even complex environments with multiple robots can be managed centrally, enabling continuous optimisation and improved control across the entire production process.

With DTPS, the Panasonic  Desk-Top Programming & Simulation System, Panasonic robot programs can be created and edited offline. This makes it possible to run the robot program on the PC in simulation and optimise the robot movement with the corresponding welding parameters offline.
