TOUGHBOOK EXPERIENCE CENTRE PUTS PARTNERS & CUSTOMERS AT THE HEART OF MOBILITY INNOVATION
Redesigned Cardiff Service and Solutions Centre is purpose-built to involve customers and partners directly in the design and testing of customised rugged mobility solutions.
Bracknell, UK. 19th March 2026 – Panasonic Connect Europe has launched its TOUGHBOOK Experience Centre at its long-established Service & Solutions Centre (SSC) in Cardiff, giving partners and customers the opportunity to experience the testing and development of customised TOUGHBOOK mobility solutions, first-hand.
As part of Panasonic’s ongoing investment in its Service and Solutions Centres, the Cardiff facility has been streamlined in both structure and design, to give visiting partners and customers a more intimate and personalised experience.
Visitors to the TOUGHBOOK Experience Centre can explore key interactive areas including:
- Humidity and temperature chambers for high-humidity and extreme temperature testing in line with MIL-STD standards. Visitors can review the results after completing the SSC tour.
- A drop test, triggered by the visitor, where solutions are suspended at different heights and dropped on selected edges and corners.
- Test plinths for dropping heavy objects onto TOUGHBOOK screens and submerging the device in elements such as sand.
- Getting under the skin of a device alongside a TOUGHBOOK specialist to understand what makes them incredibly rugged and reliable.
- Stepping into a simulated service vehicle cockpit to experience TOUGHBOOK Connected Vehicle solutions[1].
The TOUGHBOOK Experience Centre also features revamped conference and meeting facilities. In the TOUGHBOOK Museum, visitors can get hands-on with the devices that have shaped the last three decades of rugged mobility.

Increased Collaboration
The Panasonic Cardiff SSC continues to play a pivotal role in supporting TOUGHBOOK customers and partners. As a fully operational innovation hub, its dedicated engineering and testing teams provide full lifecycle support and managed services for all TOUGHBOOK solutions as part of its Mobile-IT As-a-Service turnkey solution. This includes hardware staging and kitting, proactive device monitoring, fleet management, and tailored support for mission-critical operations.
Now, the Panasonic Cardiff SSC has expanded its TOUGHBOOK managed service desk with an increasingly multi-skilled team. This has been integrated with the Panasonic Connect Service Centre, bringing together all required expertise from across the Panasonic Connect portfolio – under one roof. This agility and integration delivers tighter quality control, faster innovation, and a direct line of communication with all stakeholders and customers from across Panasonic Connect Europe.
"The new TOUGHBOOK Experience Centre in Cardiff gives partners and customers a practical, hands-on way to shape and validate cutting-edge mobility solutions alongside our specialists. We pride ourselves on knowing their businesses, and what they require from custom deployments and managed services. Streamlining our Cardiff experience centre is part of this ongoing strategy to put customers and partners at the very heart of everything we do."
