Panasonic Connect Taiwan Factory Earns Prestigious RBA Platinum Certification
Panasonic Connect has announced that its key production site, Panasonic AVC Networks Taiwan Co., Ltd. (Panasonic Taiwan), has achieved Platinum status in the Responsible Business Alliance’s Validated Assessment Program (VAP) - the highest possible rating.
This marks the first Platinum certification for any Panasonic Connect facility and only the second within the entire Panasonic Group.
The RBA Platinum award is granted exclusively to sites that earn a perfect score of 200 points, demonstrating outstanding performance across labor practices, health and safety, environmental stewardship, ethics, and management systems. The recognition confirms that Panasonic Taiwan operates at top-tier global standards for responsible and sustainable manufacturing.
With this achievement, Panasonic Connect reinforces its commitment to meeting rising international expectations for socially responsible and ethical production.
Why This Certification Matters
Panasonic’s rugged device brand TOUGHBOOK, known for driving innovation in the rugged laptop market, plays a vital role in frontline operations around the world- from police and fire departments to utilities, logistics, and manufacturing. These mission‑critical environments increasingly demand not only reliable technology but also assurance that devices are produced responsibly.
In recent years, customer expectations, particularly in Europe and the United States, have shifted strongly toward sustainability, emphasizing human rights protections and environmental responsibility throughout the supply chain.
To meet these rising expectations, Panasonic Connect has been strengthening compliance with EPEAT, a leading U.S. environmental certification program for electronics. As part of this effort, the company prioritized RBA certification at Panasonic Taiwan, the primary production hub for TOUGHBOOK devices.
The successful attainment of RBA Platinum demonstrates Panasonic Connect’s ongoing commitment to ethical manufacturing and a sustainable, transparent supply chain.
Looking Ahead
Panasonic Connect views the Platinum certification not as an endpoint but as a significant milestone in its broader sustainability strategy. The company aims to continue embedding respect for human rights, environmental stewardship, and responsible business practices across its entire supply chain.
By maintaining these high standards, Panasonic Connect seeks to reinforce customer trust and contribute to a more sustainable and socially responsible global manufacturing ecosystem.
