Award success for Panasonic for flagship Londis installation
Panasonic Business and our Irish partner Domus Projects, have been awarded ‘Retail Innovation of the Year’, at the Checkout National Supplier Retail Awards 2019.
The Checkout Magazine awards, which took place on 8th April, celebrate the latest innovation in Ireland’s retail industry, with Domus Projects and Panasonic Business being recognised for their excellence in Londis Dublin City University’s flagship store, which integrates a wide range of AV and retail technologies.
The concept store, which was in development for over a year through a formal partnership between DCU and Londis’s parent company, BWG Foods, ensures total convenience for students on site, and acts as a showcase for Irish Retail.
Engagement and interactivity was improved with three Panasonic SpacePlayerTM hybrid lighting projectors, which provide electronic signage and a cutting-edge projection solution to display video content on dedicated walls within the store. This also provides a fast return on investment for the retail store, which can sell advertising space across the signage - the[BG1] first deal virtually covering the initial purchase price of one SpacePlayerTM.
“The SpacePlayer™ was introduced to provide a bit of theatre. It gives me the flexibility to create signage anywhere in store,” said Donald Christian, Retail Manager DCU. “This has given us an additional revenue stream, so that we can approach suppliers to buy advertising and promotions in store or on the outside walls.”
Gary Byrne, Business Development Manager for Panasonic Business, added, “From the beginning of the project, Londis DCU were keen to ensure that any solution was future proofed, drives retail innovation, and demonstrated how technology can aid business processes in the store. Being recognised for this award, Panasonic Business and Domus Project Ireland are proud to say we successfully met this brief, with a store which not only makes the lives of staff easier, but increases engagement for returning customers and boosts sales.”
