Its rugged magnesium-alloy chassis meets MIL-STD-810H and IP66 standards, providing exceptional protection against extreme conditions and operates in temperatures from -29°C to +63°C. Whether you're working in remote field operations, or disaster response zones, the TOUGHBOOK 40 is designed to perform reliably wherever you go.

AI-ready and built for performance, the TOUGHBOOK 40 is equipped with the latest Intel® Core™ Ultra vPro® processor and a dedicated AI Neural Processing Unit (NPU). It delivers fast, responsive computing power wherever it's needed. Optional discrete graphics provide smooth, high-quality visuals, while advanced thermal management keeps the device cool and dependable, even in the most demanding environments.

Modularity for any mission

The TOUGHBOOK 40 adapts to any task, role, or environment with 7 expansion areas and versatile attachments. Easily reconfigurable and self-upgradable in the field, it supports smartcard and fingerprint readers, HF-RFID, DVD and Blu-ray drives, as well as multiple interfaces, including options for a second LAN port and true serial ports. Additionally, it allows for easy upgrades, including expanding RAM and adding a second SSD, ensuring the device evolves with your needs over time.

With up to 24 hours of battery life, the TOUGHBOOK 40 powers through even the longest shifts. Its plug-and-play hot-swap feature allows easy, tool-free battery replacement, without the need to shut down the laptop. Designed and manufactured by Panasonic, our Safety Technology ensures longevity with Auto-Predictive Monitoring and Active Smart Charging to optimise battery performance and longevity.

Maximum visibility and precision

The 14-inch, anti-scratch Full HD touchscreen delivers clear readability in any light or weather, with auto-adjusting brightness from 1,200 cd/m² to 2 cd/m² and anti-glare/reflection protection. The multi-touch display offers precise operation, even in wet conditions or when wearing gloves.

Connect without limits

Panasonic’s self-developed, in-house integrated antennas ensure optimal signal strength, even in remote areas. The TOUGHBOOK 40 supports high-speed 4G and 5G, including standalone and private 5G networks, with eSIM capability for seamless transitions between networks. Stay connected and work uninterrupted where other devices fall short.

Best-in-class security

The TOUGHBOOK 40 is a Microsoft Secured Core PC with a secure BIOS, fast boot-up, and Windows Hello facial recognition. It offers strong data protection through OPAL SSD, multi-user authentication, and optional smart card and fingerprint readers. Additional features include conceal mode, remote wipe, optional Viasat encryption, customizable component exclusions, and MIL-STD-461G certification for electromagnetic interference (EMI) resilience.
