Shaping the Future of Robotic Welding: My Experience at Schweisstec 2025
By Mirza Karić, Welding Specialist
As part of the Panasonic Robot & Welding team, I had the opportunity to support our presence at Schweisstec 2025 in Stuttgart, held from 21–24 October at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre. For us technicians, Schweisstec is always a key event - it’s where real production challenges meet real solutions, and where technical discussions go beyond theory.
Exhibiting alongside Blechexpo, the fair brought together an international audience focused on welding technology, joining processes, and robotic automation. The atmosphere throughout the four days was busy, technical, and very hands-on: exactly what we value.
What’s on the Stand
At Hall 9, Booth 9505, we presented our latest robotic welding systems and automation solutions. From the first day onward, there was strong interest from visitors looking for reliable, production-ready welding automation - not just concepts, but solutions that work on the shop floor.
My role involved supporting live demonstrations, explaining system setups, and discussing specific welding applications with visitors. Many conversations quickly moved from general questions to detailed discussions about materials, cycle times, weld quality, and process stability.
Technology in Action
One of the highlights for me was demonstrating our robotic welding systems powered by the Panasonic G4 controller. From a technician’s perspective, the improvements in performance, motion control, and usability are clearly noticeable, especially when running continuous welding sequences.
During the fair, we showed:
- Live MIG/MAG and TIG welding processes on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
- The interaction between robot, welding power source, and software as a complete system
- Weld traceability and process monitoring functions, which many customers see as increasingly important
- Operator-friendly programming and setup, designed to reduce downtime and simplify daily operation
Being able to demonstrate these features live and answer technical follow-up questions directly at the cell made a big difference.
Real Conversations with Real Challenges
What stood out at Schweisstec 2025 was the quality of discussions. Many visitors came with specific challenges: lack of skilled welders, increasing quality requirements, or the need to stabilise production across multiple shifts.
As a technician, it’s always valuable to exchange experiences directly with production managers, welders, and automation engineers. These conversations help us understand what really matters in daily operation and how our robotic welding solutions can be adapted to different applications.
Looking Ahead
For me, Schweisstec 2025 was not just about presenting technology, but about listening, learning, and exchanging knowledge. The interest in automated welding and robotic solutions continues to grow, and it’s clear that practical, reliable systems are in high demand.
I’d like to thank everyone who visited us at the Panasonic Robot & Welding stand and took the time to discuss their applications with us. I’m already looking forward to continuing these conversations and seeing how today’s discussions turn into tomorrow’s production solutions.
