Expanding European Service Operation
In the end of 2022, Panasonic Connect Europe has opened its new European Service Centre in Budapest, Hungary, designed to support customer servicing and repair requirements in mainland Europe with an expanded range of services. A 26-strong Factory Solutions team supports the assembly and testing of products and solutions on around 1500 m² before they are installed on site.
Sustainable Manufacturing
with Smart Factory Refurbishment Programs
Last year, the Smart Factory department has implemented a new service package: the feeder refurbishment program. The heart of this program lies in the acquisition and analysis of production data. It’s the focus of our Smart Factory approach as this data helps to figure out the best ways to plan the whole production system more efficiently. Our placement machines are a constituent of this concept. The overall goal of the program is to prolong the feeder's lifespan to ensure sustained functionality and performance as well as to guarantee precise pick-up and feeding for accurate component placement. Quick repairs and door-to-door delivery streamline the process, minimizing downtime.
The feeder refurbishment program encompasses a range of services designed to ensure optimal performance and longevity:
We begin with a thorough mechanical health check, followed by a firmware upgrade to the latest version, aligning with Panasonic's high manufacturing standards. Our approach ensures that all work is executed with precision and attention to detail. In addition, clients benefit from the reassurance of a 180-day warranty covering parts, labor, and logistics, providing peace of mind and confidence in the refurbished equipment's reliability. Should our inspection reveal any areas requiring attention, replacement parts will be provided as necessary, ensuring the feeder's functionality is restored to its optimal state. Furthermore, our team specializes in precise pick-up position adjustment, fine-tuning the equipment to achieve optimal performance levels. This attention to detail ensures that each feeder operates efficiently, contributing to overall production efficiency and quality.
A new training location for Smart Factory
In addition to the existing training center at Panasonic Campus Munich, the new training center in Budapest has now opened its doors to empower workforce with our modular role-based training programs for operators, advanced operators, process engineers and programmers of SMT factories. The modular training courses for factory solutions consist of training modules tailor made to any role in organizations.
Thanks to the modular structure, specific trainings can be combined individually to address the different skill levels operators and maintenance staff may have. Our hands-on expert-led trainings help improving the expertise of the personnel involved in production planning and the manufacturing process.
Training offers
We currently offer basic and advanced trainings for the modular NPM-W2 and the NPM-WX platforms as well as parts recognition training in Budapest.

Resilience in electronics manufacturing: Panasonic’s autonomous factory
Many production facilities are still highly dependent on the knowledge and manpower of their employees. This is particularly relevant as the manufacturing industry is currently facing various challenges. These include the shortage of skilled workers as well as complex manual production steps such as splicing, which is used in the production of printed circuit boards (PCBs).

Innovating Assembly Processes for Odd-Shaped Manufacturing
Thinking about manufacturing, we often think of big production facilities with fully automated production and assembly lines. This could be the case for many regular shaped components to be placed on Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs). Looking towards the reality, many electronics products and boards are equipped with odd-shaped components that are even often still placed manually.
