Secure digital support for mobile emergency services
Together with technology partners B&T Solutions, Tonfunk and IT security expert Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity, Panasonic has developed a multifunctional complete solution to support mobile emergency services. The flexible system accompanies emergency services such as the police, rescuers or civil protection with reliable mobile devices and secure communication and makes everyday work easier.
Mobile emergency services are heavily challenged in their everyday work. Analogous processes, which are often still part of their everyday life, slow them down in a fast, efficient and safe implementation of their tasks. If, for example, there is a car accident, the police, the emergency doctor and possibly even the fire brigade are called upon. The officials and helpers on site are usually forced to record the data required for rescue, reconnaissance and recovery with ballpoint pens, clipboards and forms, and to document them with cameras. This requires extensive follow-up work with digitization of the handwritten data and merging with the photo documentation. The media break means not only an increased susceptibility to errors, but in particular an increased expenditure of time.
A complete digital solution, developed with the combined expertise of four experts, is intended to remedy the situation. A modern, ergonomic system consisting of mobile end devices from Panasonic combined with communication, control and security applications provides emergency services with valuable support for all tasks on the go: from order receipt to navigation, messenger communication with headquarters and colleagues, photo documentation and video self-protection, right through to everything is at hand for the final protocol. Thanks to direct data processing, it also significantly reduces the effort involved in post-deployment work.
Combined expertise from four partners: integrated, flexible, digital and secure
In addition to multifunctionality and time savings, the solution offers maximum reliability and data protection. The IT security experts at Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity ensure comprehensive, proactive IT security with protection against cyber attacks - including hard disk encryption and VPN solution with BSI approval for special government requirements.
Thanks to their robust design - the latest model 10" tablet TOUGHBOOK G2 with IP-65 and MIL-STD810H certification - the mobile Panasonic TOUGHBOOK tablets remain fail-safe when on duty, defy adverse IT weather conditions and are easy to use even with gloves. They also work reliably despite vibrations in vehicles, score with extra-long battery life and batteries that can be changed by the user. The certified vehicle installation with TÜV-tested accommodation and charging options is carried out by B&T Solutions, the central control unit is the Polaris system of the Tonfunk Group.
The solution was developed for emergency vehicles of all kinds, such as command vehicles (BfkW), command vehicles (ELW) with authority connections or command and control vehicles.
In their interaction, the following components contribute to an integrated, flexible, digital and secure process that makes everyday work easier on the go and enables more efficient operations:
Specialized special vehicles and digital radio from B&T Solutions
B&T Solutions contributes to the partnership as a specialist for BOS complete solutions - and is responsible for the integration into the vehicle. The company offers more than 30 years of experience - from conception and development, to in-house component production and vehicle conversion, to ensuring operational readiness with mobile service.
Reliable mobile devices from Panasonic TOUGHBOOK
Ruggedized mobile devices are the key to seamless communication between emergency services on site. The notebooks, tablets and handhelds including vehicle mounts from Panasonic have proven to be robust, fail-safe and reliable in critical applications. With their ergonomic design and long battery life, they ensure the necessary comfort during use.
Paperless office on four wheels from the Tonfunk Group
The Polaris system from the Tonfunk Group serves as the central control unit for modern emergency vehicles. It enables deployment planning and navigation at a real-time level. In addition, it can be expanded and can then be used, for example, to control the signal system and to record administrative offences.
BSI-approved IT security from Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity
IT security is essential in sensitive areas such as fire brigade, police or emergency doctor operations - a hacker attack or system failure can be life-threatening. The comprehensive security package from Rohde & Schwarz guarantees the highest level of security: It offers secure protection against cyber attacks on the mobile end device and is always ready to work thanks to failsafe systems. It includes a highly secure browser as well as a zero-trust-based VPN client and hard disk encryption with BSI approval. The approval by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) guarantees security at the highest level for data protection-sensitive authorities and organizations.
