PANASONIC SHOWS VIRTUAL AND AUGMENTED REALITY CAPABILITIES AT IBC FROM ITS LATEST TECHNOLOGY COLLABORATIONS
Panasonic will be demonstrating the latest innovations in virtual and augmented reality as well as slow motion replay broadcast capabilities at IBC 2019 as a result of its collaboration with leading industry players. The collaborations with Zero Density, Brainstorm and SImplyLive will demonstrate how broadcasters and content producers can reduce complexity and costs when incorporating the latest technology into their production workflow.
Virtual studios and augmented reality
Panasonic has been working with two of the leading players in virtual studio and augmented reality to ensure their systems work seamlessly with Panasonic broadcast cameras. The AW-UE150 camera is the first PTZ on the market to provide Position Data Notification (PTZF) and thanks to the adoption of the FreeD protocol, it is compatible with Virtual Studio and Augmented Reality applications and provides real-time positioning to the VR/AR engines.
Panasonic and Zero Density have combined to provide a cost effective and photorealistic virtual studio production solution for small to mid-range TV stations and content providers. Zero Density’s Reality EngineTM virtual production software combined with the Panasonic 4K PTZ camera (AW-UE150) delivers a powerful, high-quality and affordable solution to provide many more users with access to virtual studio applications.
Panasonic has also worked closely with Brainstorm, the all-in-one virtual set and real-time 3D graphics solution provider, to certify its Panasonic 4K PTZ camera AW-UE150 for use with its products. Brainstorm’s award-winning InfinitySet dramatically enhances production value to capture and retain new and larger audiences, whilst greatly reducing production costs and opening up new sources of revenue.
Intuitive All-In-One Production
For entry level and mid-tier sports broadcasters and content producers, Panasonic has teamed with SimplyLive to provide a compact, powerful and cost effective all-in-one production and SloMo Replay system. SimplyLive all-in-one compact production unit, the ViBox, and the Panasonic AK-UC4000 studio camera make it even easier to dip into live productions. With its high-quality output, innovative workflows and functions and significant cost advantages, the combination is the perfect entry-level solution for smaller companies and productions.
Guilhem Krier, Panasonic EMEA Head of New Business & Market Development at the Professional Video Systems Business unit, said: “We have collaborated with this latest generation of innovative broadcasting technology leaders to ensure that our customers can take advantage of the best virtual studio and augmented reality and broadcast techniques with the confidence that the systems will work simply and efficiently alongside Panasonic’s range of broadcast camera solutions. Our demonstrations at IBC this week show how our partnerships have taken the complexity away from broadcasters and content producers, so that they can concentrate on harnessing the power of these new technologies to enhance their viewers’ experience.”
