Projection-Mapping-Technologie für ein lebendiges Kunsterlebnis
Für ihr Vorhaben, in Toronto eine Immersive-Art-Ausstellung mit den Werken des niederländischen Post-Impressionisten Vincent van Gogh zu realisieren – nach dem Vorbild einer ähnlichen Ausstellung in Paris –, mussten die Produzenten von Lighthouse Immersive zunächst einmal den perfekten Ort finden. Die Wahl fiel auf ein historisches Gebäude der kanadischen Tageszeitung Toronto Star, mit starkem Bezug zur gesamten Metropolregion Toronto. Nachdem alle Vereinbarungen getroffen waren, folgten die ersten Planungsschritte für das Projekt: die Entwicklung eines Konzepts, um das Industriedenkmal mithilfe mehrerer zusammengeschalteter Projektoren visuell zu verwandeln und Boden und Wände komplett mit van Goghs Gemälden zu „überziehen“, um die Besucher aus allen Betrachtungswinkeln darin eintauchen zu lassen.
