Challenge

Create a visually impactful, fully animal-free circus experience inside a large 21,000 m² arena with a 27 m dome height and up to 2,000 seats, while ensuring that fast, unpredictable performer movement could be tracked, illuminated and projected onto with perfect accuracy for the entire audience.

Solution

Panasonic delivered a fully integrated visual system combining high-brightness laser projectors: 12 × PT-MZ20KEJ with ET-C1W500 lenses and 4 × PT-REQ12 with ET-C1T700 lenses, with a unique real time auto-tracking and projection-control platform that automatically follows performers and redirects projection through precision mirrors, creating a unified, seamless and fully automated solution.

Welcome to the Dome, the beating heart of Yerevan

Tashir Arena, located in Yerevan, Armenia, is a building with nine floors in the heart of the city and a world-class venue where tradition meets innovation.

Its transformable stage, flexible 2,000-seat capacity and striking 27-meter dome allow it to host events of any scale.

Projecting Dreams Across 1,000 m²

The new animal-free circus relies entirely on digital scenography, choreography and acrobatic artistry. Panasonic’s high-brightness projectors, twelve PT-MZ20KEJ units and four PT-REQ12 units generate enormous digital worlds that shift instantly with the narrative.

A signature highlight is the projection onto 14-metre-high, 3-metre-wide roll-up mesh screens, creating a semi-transparent illusion that blends real performers with digital atmospheres.

The Circus That Follows You – Literally

The show’s secret weapon is Panasonic’s fully automated tracking and projection-control system. It automatically identifies and follows acrobats, dancers and clowns, and uses precision mirrors to direct projection onto them or onto specific areas — completely hands-free.
The system leverages the projectors’ 240 Hz refresh rate for ultra-precise motion detection and flicker-free camera capture.

When Technology Takes a Bow – And Helps Performers Fly

By merging high-performance projection with intelligent, automated tracking, the production introduces a completely new visual language to the circus world. Digital scenes react to movement, environments shift instantly, and performers interact with a responsive digital stage as naturally as if it were alive.

"Panasonic technology didn’t just support our vision — it made this new type of circus possible."
