Panasonic hits the road with latest live events technology
The latest live event technology brought together by Panasonic, BlackTrax and d3 will be showcased across Europe between September and December.
Panasonic is looking to grow its presence in the live entertainment market and is working in partnership with BlackTrax and d3, to present how technology can be used to create stunning and unforgettable effects.
Panasonic Visual System and Broadcast & ProAV solutions will be displayed at the events, showcasing a complete 4K workflow from cameras and switchers, to laser projectors and the latest display technologies.
London based d3 Technologies, who’ll be joining the roadshow, recently launched their gx range. The new media servers are designed to facilitate generative content, rendering video, audio, MIDI, tracking and automation data or interactive inputs in real-time for shows that respond to their environments. Earlier this year, the company also launched the 2x4pro to join their flagship pro range. d3 pro media servers have been used on some of the biggest and most complex projects in live entertainment.
BlackTrax are showcasing their leading vision based IR tracking solution used for real time tracking for moving projection mapping and automated camera control.
“Event design is ever changing. Designers are now using kinetic elements to produce incredible and complex effects,” said Hartmut Kulessa Marketing Manager at Panasonic. “The Live Entertainment roadshow offers a behind the scenes look at how some of the most spectacular live events are being brought to life.”
“The use of advanced visualisation tools and automated production tools, such as moving projection and robotic cameras is on the increase. So we encourage all attendees to take part in our exclusive workshops and seminars, demonstrating how these can be incorporated in to future projects.”
The first event kicked off and dragged the crowds to Birmingham, UK. A total of five events are planned across Europe between September and December 2017.

Putting 3D into perspective
Mention 3D and many of us will immediately think of the pioneering 3D movies where frighteners like the shark Jaws jumped out of the cinema screen to shock the audience. These initial experiences were fun at the time but the surprise of the repetitive effect quickly grew old and was tiring on the eyes. However, 3D has not faded away, far from it. In fact, the use of 3D technology has continued to develop with more powerful media servers and resolutions continuing to improve the experience. Use of the latest 3D techniques in blockbuster movies, such as Avatar 2, look set to revive 3D at the cinema but the other major focus for modern 3D is in the area of entertainment and theme parks.
